Statement of Faith
GOD
We believe that there is only one God who eternally exists as three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26, Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19)
JESUS
We believe that Jesus Christ is God the Son who came to live on earth as 100% God and 100% man. (Philippians 2:6–11)
The Scriptures declare:
Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. (Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:31, Luke 1:35)
Jesus lived a sinless life. (Hebrews 7:26, 1 Peter 2:22)
Jesus performed miracles. (Acts 2:22, Acts 10:38)
Jesus died on a cross, atoning the sins of all who believe in Him as a substitutionary sacrifice. (Romans 5:9, 1 Corinthians 15:3, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 2:9, 1 Peter 3:18)
Jesus rose from the dead in bodily form. (Matthew 28:6, Luke 24:39, 1 Corinthians 15:4)
Jesus ascended to the right hand of the Father. (Acts 1:11, Acts 2:33, Philippians 2:9-11, Hebrews 1:3)
Jesus indwells all believers, making Him the Lord of their lives as well as Savior. (John 1:12, John 14:17, 23, John 15:4, Romans 8:11, Revelation 3:20)
Jesus will return again in power to finalize His kingdom, righteousness and peace. (Matthew 26:64, Revelation 20:7-15, Revelation 21:1-5)
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit is completely God and indwells within those who put their faith in Jesus. We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit, given at Pentecost, is a gift from the Father to empower believers to be witnesses of the gospel throughout the whole earth. The gifts of the Holy Spirit that we see on display in the New Testament are still active within the life of the church today. (Joel 2:28-29, Matthew 3:11, Mark 16:17, Acts 1:5-8; 2:1-4, 17, 38, 39; 8:14-17; 10:38, 44-47; 11:15-17; 19:1-6, 1 Corinthians 12:1-11)
THE BIBLE
We believe that the Old and New Testaments, inerrant as originally given, are inspired by God and are completely trustworthy and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice. (Proverbs 30:5, Romans 16:25-26, 2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21)
THE STATE OF HUMANKIND
We believe that God created humanity in His own image and designed each one to live in relationship with Him. (Genesis 1:27-30)
Because of disobedience, humanity fell, incurring thereby both physical and spiritual death. All men and women are born with a sinful nature, are separated from the life of God, and can be saved only through the atoning work of Jesus. (Genesis 3:6, Romans 3:23)
We believe that after living one life on earth all humankind will experience resurrection and judgment. Those who have believed in the gospel of Jesus will receive the gift of an eternity in the presence of God (Matthew 5:12, 2 Corinthians 5:1, Hebrews 11:16, 1 Peter 1:4)
Those who have not believed in the gospel of Jesus will experience eternal separation from the presence of God, which is hell. (Matthew 25:41, Mark 9:43-48, Hebrews 9:27, Revelation 14:9-11; 20:12-15; 21:8)
THE SALVATION OF HUMANITY
We believe that salvation is available to all, and given by grace through faith. Salvation is received through the prompting and indwelling of the Holy Spirit, repentance toward the Father and faith in Jesus. (Luke 24:47, John 3:3, Romans 8:16, Romans 10:13-15, 2 Corinthians 1:22, Ephesians 1:13-14, Ephesians 2:8)
The evidence of salvation is a life of pursuing righteousness and growing in the Fruit of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22-23, Ephesians 4:24, Titus 2:12)
HEALING
We believe that provision for healing is given to humanity through the redemptive work of Jesus. Prayer for the sick and anointing with oil are taught in the Scriptures and are privileges for the Church in this present age. (Psalm 103:2-3, Isaiah 53:5, Matthew 8:16-17, 1 Corinthians 12:9,28, James 5:14-16)
THE CHURCH
We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ and finds its ultimate purpose in worshiping God and making disciples. (Matthew 28:19-20, 1 Corinthians 12:12-31)
